A historic area of Downtown Stuart is getting a major makeover with the addition of a new development project, the Azul Apartments. Azul is being developed by New Urban Communities and Richard and Rice Construction is building the shell of the homes.
Located in the 1.4-acre area known as the Triangle Property, Azul will be the only new rental community offered in this part of Stuart and will bring 49 new residences to the area. Azul will feature 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments with private balconies and patios, as well as high ceilings. It is within walking distance of more than 75 shops, restaurants, and cultural/entertainment venues, the spectacular Riverwalk, Sunset Bay Marina and several great parks.
The goal of this development is to bring more walkability to the area and give residents the option to keep their cars at home. Now people who work downtown at Martin Memorial Hospital or the Martin County Courthouse will be able to walk to their jobs.
Azul is pet-friendly and will offer residents an amenity center, club room, pool and exercise room. Construction of Azul began in Spring 2018 and is expected to be complete in June 2019.
New Urban Communities tries to build green whenever possible, by avoiding development in environmentally-sensitive sites and farmland, providing publicly accessible green space, building close to public transportation and more.
