EXPERIENCED RESIDENTIAL CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT

A leading residential shell construction contractor seeks an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our high-energy, rapidly growing team for residential projects in the PALM BEACH/BROWARD/ST. LUCIE COUNTY/COLLIER COUNTY/LEE COUNTY region.

Construction Superintendents supervise all on-site construction, including scheduling subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Responsibilities include:

• Coordinates and supervises all construction activities.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and – procedures; complying with legal regulations.
• Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
• Understands the project plans and specifications.
• Tracks and receives material deliveries; resolving delivery discrepancies.
• Provides daily and weekly progress reports for each project.
• Prepares schedules and supervises completion of punch lists.
• Maintains an organized and clean job site.

Qualifications:

• A thorough knowledge of all trades involved in residential construction (particularly concrete, masonry and framing)
• Strong organizational skills
• Must be comfortable working with a tablet computer (iPad) for reporting and viewing plans
• Excellent problem/conflict resolution skills
• Ability to prioritize projects, work against deadlines and organize work flow with multiple interruptions.
• Work requires the ability to operate an automobile, have a valid state driver’s license, and personal vehicle liability insurance coverage to meet the standard set by the company.

EXPERIENCED CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR

Richard & Rice Construction Co. celebrating 15 years in business specializes in Foundations, Masonry, and Rough Carpentry; has an immediate opening for an experienced Estimator with a background in residential construction in Florida. The Estimator will work out of our Deerfield, FL office, and be responsible for the preparation of quantity surveys and proposals primary targeted to national, smaller regional builders, custom builders, and light commercial GC’s. Minimal travel will be required. The Estimator will manage all aspects of developing cost estimates, budgets, and bids for single, multi-family, and light commercial projects.

Responsibilities:

• Occasionally visit project work sites, participate in pre-proposal meetings, clarify the scope of work, and prepare RFI’s;
• Evaluate projects for constructability and value-engineer cost savings.
• Work closely with R&R personnel and owners to develop strategy, competitive differentiation, and an overall understanding of the project requirements.
• Communicate with potential customers regarding bid status.
• Develop and manage the development of a preliminary bid schedule.
• Working knowledge of Planswift Onscreen estimating software.
• Learn and work with proprietary estimating and budgeting software.
• Work on a preliminary project schedule based on the information provided in the plans and specifications.
• Proposal development and technical writing skills required.

Job Requirements:

• Preferred four year BS degree, but not required.
• 5-10 years of experience in estimating or construction, Estimator experience preferred.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills.
• A sense of urgency and the ability to multi-task.
• Highly productive and willing to manage a busy work schedule independently.
• Superior verbal and written (including technical) communication skills.
